We started Unhurried Interior to help you create functional spaces that support your everyday life, especially through seasons of change.

The name means two things.

The first is the one we believe in: A home comes together slowly. The rooms worth sitting in are full of things that arrived over years from people whom you love and want to reminisce about.

The second is a bit of a joke that anyone mid-renovation will understand immediately. Unhurried is also just what renovating is. Projects take longer than the plan, whether you meant them to or not.

What we actually do here

We bought a house that needed a great deal, including the removal of some chipmunks, and we have been working through it room by room ever since.

We renovated the kitchen for $4,000, keeping the original cabinets and waxing them instead of painting. We did the bathroom for $2,500 and kept the bathtub surround, because pulling it out would have started a project we did not have in us.

That is our approach. Keep what you can while still making a space that feels updated.

The spaces we love most are full of treasures that come with a story and furniture that helps you rest, with something always left to dream about. The quilt from great-grandma. The fluffy recliner. The room with options to for designing and decorating.
